Common Pest Control Questions

Are the chemical treatments safe for my children and pets?

Yes, once dried. Modern professional-grade treatments use products or gels low in toxicity to mammals. Pets and children should stay clear of treated wet surfaces until fully dry (usually 1-2 hours).

Do I need to leave the home during or after treatment?

For general external spray and bait services, usually no - you can remain indoors while barriers are applied. For specialized internal treatments, or service infestations, you may need to vacate for 2 to 4 hours. All relevant information will be sent via email upon booking.

Is the treatment safe if someone in the home is pregnant or has asthma/allergies?

Yes, our treatments are safe. However please inform the technician beforehand so they can select low-odour or gel-based solutions and recommend any minor ventilation precautions for your peace of mind.

How do I prepare my house before the technician arrives?

To prepare your home, cover or pack away open food and pet bowls, clear the perimeter near walls or under-sink spaces if targeted. Please note that preparation requirements vary depending on the service, and a detailed, service-specific email with full recommendations will be sent upon booking.

Why am I seeing more pests right after the service?

It's quite normal to see a temporary increase in pest activity right after a treatment. This "flush out effect" means the application is working as intended by disrupting nesting areas and compelling pests to encounter protective barriers.

How long does a standard treatment session take?

A standard residential service typically takes between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the size of the property and type of treatment.

How long does a standard treatment last?

General pest barriers usually provide active control for 6 to 12 months indoors and 3 to 6 months on external perimeters, depending on weather exposure and pest pressure. To optimise longevity you should avoid any pressure washing or mopping and cleaning in the internal treated areas for the following 10 days post service.

Do you offer a service guarantee or free call-backs?

Most reputable companies offer a 30-day to 6-month warranty. If pests return within the warranty window, technicians return to re-treat at no additional cost. We offer varying warranty coverage depending on the specific treatment.

How often should I get my home treated?

Annual preventative maintenance is standard for most residential properties, while high-risk areas or commercial properties may require quarterly or bi-monthly visits.

Do spray treatments leave an odour or chemical residue on surfaces?

Professional indoor formulations are typically odourless and non-staining once dry.  However, certain products can have a slight scent that disappears rapidly after application, along with a light dampness that also dries quickly.
